Picturing - Framing migration

The photography exhibition ‘Picturing-Framing Migration’ displays the twelve shortlisted photographs, as pictured and framed by professional and amateur photographers, who took part in the photography competition in June-August 2018. The selected photographs showcase the everyday life of migrants and refugees in Cyprus and abroad.

"We want to congratulate and thank all the participants for sending these exceptional photographs. We are moved, humbled and overwhelmed by all entries" says Acelya Ozel, manager of the Europe Direct Nicosia.

The selected photographs aim to raise awareness and narrate stories from new perspectives. The exhibition will be hosted in The Home Gallery until 5th December 2018 and is an initiative of EDIC Nicosia, funded by the EU Commission.

A few words about the EDIC project:
The Europe Direct Information Centre (EDIC), Nicosia, is a part of the pan-European network which numbers more than 400 centres in 28 EU member states with the financial support from the EU Commission. EDIC is managed by the Home for Cooperation and it is housed opposite the Home for Cooperation, in the Ledra Palace UN Buffer Zone area. The overall aim of EDIC is to inform EU citizens across the island about their rights within the Union and the opportunities available to them. With its unique location, EDIC Nicosia works inter-communally to raise awareness on the benefits of EU citizenship, and to promote EU values and principles.
