Ingmar Bergman is one of the most important and influential film and theater directors of the 20th Century. His cinematic legacy is still relevant and the unique aesthetic quality of his films never ceases to impress audiences all over the globe. 2018 is a landmark year, since it will be 100 years from Bergman’s birth (Uppsala, 14 July 1918).

The screening of ‘Summer With Monica’ is the 8th and final in the series of screenings to celebrate the Centenary since the birth of Ingmar Bergman. The series of screenings is organized by The Cultural Workshop Ayion Omologiton, with the collaboration of The Embassy of Sweden in Cyprus and the Cyprus Contemporary Film Center, ‘Cynema Xanthis 3’ and Pantheon Cinema, and with the support of The Cultural Services of The Ministry of Education and Culture of The Republic of Cyprus.
