A few words about the artist
Georgia Tombazou was born and raised in Athens and in 1980 she permanently settled in Cyprus. Art, colours and the aesthetics play an important role in her life, as well as in other crafts to which she dedicates her time. Through art she expresses her inner world and concerns. And so she begins to paint, without being limited by realistic scenarios, gradually building on a strong personal style, capturing on canvas what she sees with her heart. She also begins to create masks from plaster, using molds. She then adds them onto a painted canvas and decorates them with various materials, such as feathers and beads, also creating elaborate makeup styles. During the last ten years, painting and mask construction have been the favourite hobbies of Georgia Tombazou and an integral part of her life.

A few words about the exhibition
For this second series of work, the main source of inspiration is Nature and the emotions created by Her. The colours, the textures and the need for contact with nature became the cleansing medium, while the irrational destruction of the environment by humans the cause of the creator’s concerns. Her works, which are characterised as an abstract form of art, are expressed through particularly substantial colours and bold shapes, while in other works the acrylics work in harmony with natural materials. The viewer is free to interpret the natural world himself, to capture the beauty of nature, but also to feel the danger posed. The landscape around us is such a precious source of life and inspiration, that our love for it should be channelled selflessly, and our fight for its protection to be part of our daily lives.

A few fords about the music during the opening night
