May Market 2015

The May Market, organised by the Events’ Committee of the French-Cypriot School in Nicosia, will be open to the public on Sunday 24th May 2015, from 11 am until 4 pm. It will take place at the school, at 20 Kavafi Street, Aglantzia, Nicosia.

There will be two areas:
- a "Yard Sale"-style market, where used items can be sold,
- a Market Place, where new items can be sold, such as arts and crafts.

The purpose of this day includes the following:
- To create a happy, entertaining "get-together" event for school families and other guests and visitors,
- To give anyone who wishes the opportunity to sell their unwanted items at the "Yard Sale", which might make someone else happy, as one person's rubbish is often another person's treasure!
- To give everyone the opportunity to purchase second-hand items at good prices,
- To contribute to decreasing the amount of waste created by today's disposable society,
- To welcome local artisans and craftspeople to participate in the "Market Place",
- To create a festive and fun atmosphere including food, drinks and entertainment for children.

Donate for a good cause:
There will also be a collection of second-hand items such as clothes, shoes, toys, books and small furniture which will be donated to Hope for Children, an organisation dedicated to child-protection.
