Exposed - Antonis Stylianou

"'Exposed' brings artifacts and facts to surface, in order to draw a rather beautiful, yet controversial image of a post-modern never-ending desire, and blind faith. The beauty and simplicity of things is questioned and exposed to the audience through a series of installations, art works and written texts placed in a modern realia in which physical space and location are not only a setting, but another element highlighting its exposure.

Our perception and reaction of love and hate, of love or hate, of love and of hate is a subjective one, yet the image of it is exposed with romantic means, and relates to our twisted -or not- belief in the greater.

Anything is everything, everything is anything.

The essentials and the sublime are exposed and superimposed.
No life is forever, yet no religion can ever be.

Anything is everything, everything is anything.

A narcissistic wondering of the unknown god, exposed and barefoot, aesthetically leftover. A narcissistic wish of forever to be stolen, exposed and flattered.

Whether butterflies or souls, rose-pedals or blood, money or needles, emotions or pleasures, contrasting settings suggest another aesthetic and another sentimentality to be praised and embraced.

Antonis Stylianou studied Architecture in the UK. He currently lives and works in Limassol, finishing his practice and teaching Architecture and Art at a local Academy.
