Their freedom is their self-respect, this is signalized by this ambitious, charming film, which does not impose a past on its protagonists, which recognizes their status as refugees unconditionally and which does not submit their motivations to any judgement. They enter a vicious circle of human trafficking, economic exploitation and bureaucratic arbitrariness, all of which could have made up a dreary film, but Riahi has created characters whose dignity shines through with a smile in the most hopeless situations.
