Anthi Pafiou: Dream projections

Anthi Pafiou presents her first solo exhibition titled ‘Προεξοχές ονείρου’, composed of mixed media paintings. Anthi's work is triggered by a conscious stance against actual events which she visually renders in a purely personal language. Vivid colours are inserted into virtually violent images that implicate anthropoid beings in incomprehensible scenes.

Anthi Pafiou is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1985 in Cyprus. She completed the BA program of Contemporary Dance at the ”University of Nicosia” (with a scholarship). Furthermore, she is a graduate of “Athens School of Fine Arts" and has exhibited her work in Spain, Greece and in Cyprus. She has collaborated with artists of various fields, in experimental groups in Spain and in Greece. In her most recent work, Anthi researches how art can be beneficial for the society through the value of remaining in the “Present moment”. She has collaborated with artists and scientists of different fields, approaching the equal role of art and science in the specific research. She participated in the “Young Artists Biennale/Milano 2015” with the performance piece “And Here we are” and she has been chosen from the International Expo to exhibit in Venice and Argentina (2016) and in Venice International Performance Week (2017). She, has furthermore co-founded the group Oshos tou Fkiourou (2018), along with Petros Konnaris and organized the "All Night Long Festival".
