Bridging Tastes - Exchanging Recipes
Students from various countries who attend the Department of Hotel and Culinary Arts of Pafos’ Technical School will exchange recipes, stories and experiences, exchanging, in essence, personal, family, and even wider social “biographies”. The procedure is recorded photographically forming a history of world cuisine that highlights the proximity, common roots and the peculiarities of each culinary culture. However, at the same time, this meeting touches some of the most complex contemporary issues, particularly those of uprooting, migration and loss of traditional social structures.
The operation of the programme reflects the philosophy and acts as a memorandum on the way in which European culture was formed, which, as we know, is the result of meetings, influences and exchanges. A photographic exhibition and a publication with the recipes that were presented in various events, will frame the large table at the Khan.
