Cyprus : Piano Trio Viopiace

The newly established piano trio, “Viopiace,” will perform for the first time at «Technopolis 20»on Sunday 8th of October 2017 at 20:00. Viopiace was brought toghether by its members’ love for music and desire to express themselves with the music of their favourite composers. Thus, they included in their programme works for trios written by L. v. Beethoven, A. Piazzola and for piano-violin and piano-cello and duets written by J. Williams, A. Piazzola and G. Faure. Pianist Nina Ioannidou, violinist Spyros Spyrou and cellist Maria Avramidou are the members of “Viopace”.

A few words about the musicians:

Maria Avramidou was born in Athens. She studied classic guitar and cello at the Greek National Conservatory in Athens. She, also, studied English literature at the Capodistrian University of Athens and worked in various conservatories in Greece and Cyprus. As a guitarist, she performed in Greece and as cellist at the string orchestra of the the University of Indianapolis. She returned to Cyprus in September 2012 and she teaches at conservatories and performs in various musical ensembles.

Spyros Spyrou was born in 1983 in Paphos where he took violin and music theory lessons from the age of eight. As a teenager, he was a member of the Cyprus Youth Orchestra, leader in the Municipality Orchestra of Yeroskipou and a member of the Cyprus Guard Army Orchestra. He continued his music studies in Greece, graduated from Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki and gained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. During his studies he was a member of the University Orchestra and a violinist in other ensembles. Since 2009 he is an active musician both as a performer and teacher. He is a member of “Commandaria Orchestra” and “Avanti Crossover Symphonic Orchestra”. He performs baroque, classical, contemporary music and also pop, rock and electronic music. He is a violin and music theory teacher in various schools.

Nina Ioannidou was born in Stavropol, Russia in 1982. From the age of seven she started studying the piano and music theory. After that, she studied in Musical University of Stavropol and continued her studies in Greece. During the period 2003–2004, she took part in various competitions in Athens and won first and second prizes. She has taught piano and accompanied choirs in the annual “Hadjidakion Festival” in Greece, she performed with ensembles and individual musicians. For the last eight years she is teaching music in Paphos and Limassol
