Impressions Of A Mediterranean Island

Cyprus : Impressions Of A Mediterranean Island

"Impressions From A Mediterranean Island" is an Exhibition of 150 photographs taken over a two year exploration of the whole of the island of Cyprus. From the Akamas Peninsula to Ayia Napa Monastery, peaceful Paphos Harbour to Nicosia City centre. The Troodos Mountains to scenic little country villages. The exhibition includes landscapes, wildlife, architecture, art and portraits of people, both young and old. "Cyprus is a beautiful and fascinating island for any visitor, with an incredible history dating back 9,000 years. Everything that has happened over that time period seems to also have happened here, and there are lots of places to see the evidence of that, and as a photographer Cyprus is a perfect place. Greek myths and legends, Egyptian and Persians, Roman villas and temples, Byzantine churches, Crusader castles, Gothic cathedrals, Venetian walled cities to name just a few. But it is the Cypriot people that are the most fascinating and interesting, and friendly too". The Exhibition follows on from the book of the same name which was published last year (with 180 photos, some the same, many not) and was very positively received in the media, described as "Stunning", "Spectacular", "Amazing", "Beautiful". A perfect snapshot of contemporary Cyprus.

The exhibition includes over 40 historic photographic prints of Cypriot life from a bygone age.
