Educational Family Concert

The Foundation of Cultural Creativity for Children and Youth, Larnaca in cooperation with the Organization "Hope For Children" UNCRC Policy Center organizes an educational family concert with the Symphonic Band of Strovolos Municipality-European University Cyprus

The concert, which will take place on Sunday, June 12 at 11am at Larnaca Municipal Theatre, will showcase the TV spot "The Kiko and the Hand" – a cartoon specifically designed for children, parents and teachers - part of the campaign "One in Five" of the Council of Europe against sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Children and parents will have the opportunity to listen to famous songs from rock, pop, classical, folk and film music, favourite children’s songs and the Symphonic Band will also present its musical instruments.

The proceeds of the concert will be donated to support the Foundation’s program "Music for Children and Young People" which operates since January 2011 and which includes children and young people from economically vulnerable families to whom they are offered free music lessons and free musical instruments.

The International Humanitarian and Independent Institution "Hope For Children" UNCRC Policy Center is the official representative of the campaign "One in Five" of the Council of Europe against sexual abuse and exploitation of children. A cartoon character called Kiko - a character who was created by the Council of Europe in order to help parents better communicate with their children and to provide them with the appropriate messages and information necessary to protect them from sexual abuse and exploitation. The campaign, which rolls out across 47 member countries, is also illustrated in a book, explaining in a simple, playful and nonthreatening tone boundaries, what children should accept or not, when being touched. This book has been distributed in the past at schools by "Hope For Children" UNCRC Policy Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
