Culture creates Collections: Collections create Culture

The next Wednesday Lecture will be given by Wim van der Weiden, Chairman of the European Museum Academy, on February 11th at 19:30.

Entitled "Culture creates Collections: Collections create Culture – About the difference between a private and a public museum" the lecture will explore the meaning of private museums in a time of profound financial crisis. Are they less vulnerable in comparison to state-funded museums? Did the so-called privatisation of the Dutch state museums and many provincial and municipal museums protect them against undesirable interferences by the authorities?
