Around the world in 80 minutes

Guitarist and baritone Sotiris Kasparides presents the guitar recital “Around the world in 80 minutes”. Composers from forteen countries will be heard; Francisco Tarrega (Spain), Astor Piazzolla (Argentina), Dimitris Fampas (Greece), Agustín Barrios Mangoré (Paraguay), Heitor Villa-Lobos (Brazil), Sotiris Kasparides and Akis Pavlou (Cyprus),Toru Takemitsu (Japan), Leo Brouwer (Cuba), Nikita Koshkin (Russia), Giuseppe Giordani (Italy), John Dowland (England), Andrew York (United States) and Roland Dyens (France). Furthermore, an arrangement from Nigeria, Africa will be heard. The recital will follow the guitarist’s approach on the music of the different composers and countries aiming to elevate the guitar and guitar colours of each country, composer and era. This journey will last eighty minutes with the sound of guitar determining the above colours without always following the traditional approach of each country, but, highlighting the guitar approach.
